UDHAMPUR, Apr 27: Two persons died in separate road accidents during the last 24 hours in Udhampur district.
A motorcyclist sustained critical injuries while his pillion rider died when their motorcycle met with an accident after skidding off the road at Rehambal, in Udhampur. The deceased has been identified as Prabhat Singh (45) son of Dina Nath of village Pakhlai while the injured, identified as Rahul Kumar (26) son of Kishor Lal of Sambal, was admitted to District Hospital Udhampur.
The accident took place around 6.30 pm when the Motorcycle, bearing registration number JK14E-7875, skidded off the road at Rehambal. Locals shifted the injured persons to District Hospital Udhampur where doctors declared Prbhat Singh as brought dead.
Meanwhile in another road accident last evening, a Scooty was hit by a Truck near Gole Mela resulting into critical injuries to the Scooty rider, who was taken to District Hospital Udhampur where doctors referred him to Narayna Hospital Kakryal-Katra late night. However, he succumbed to his injuries on way to the Narayana Hospital, late night.
The deceased has been identified as Sukh Dev Singh, son of Pritam Singh of Birnu Ramnagar.
