2 drivers injured as vehicles plunge into gorge

RAMBAN, Mar 25: Two drivers were injured, when the vehicles they were driving, skidded off the road and plunged into gorge on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway here.
As per police sources, a tralla bearing registration number HR55F-8456 was on its way to Banihal from Ramban, when the driver lost control over the vehicle and it rolled down near Shalghari on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway, resulting into injuries to the driver.
The injured driver identified as Mohammad Ashraf, son of Ghulam Mohammad Shah, a resident of Arbal Chareel Tehsil Banihal was shifted to Sub District Hospital (SDH) Banihal, where his condition was stated to be stable, when last reports came in.
A case under FIR Number 36/18 under Section 279 and 337 RPC has been registered at Banihal Police Station and investigation started.
Meanwhile, a driver received minor injuries, when the truck bearing registration number JK02BU-6225 he was driving fell into gorge near Battery Chasmah area, falling under the jurisdiction of Ramban Police Station.
The injured driver identified as Pawan Kumar of Bari Brahmana District Samba was shifted to District Hospital Rambam, where he was responding to the treatment, when last reports came in.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered at Ramban Police Station and investigation started.
