SRINAGAR, Mar 30: Police arrested two drug peddlers and recovered contraband substance from their possession in Kulgam district today.
A Police spokesman said that two drug peddlers, identified as Gurdiyal Massi, a resident of Kooperthla Punjab and Ravi Singh, a resident of Jaspal Amratsar were arrested by a Police Party of Police Post JT during naka checking at security check post JT.
He said the accused were travelling in a SRTC passenger bus which was on way to Jammu from Srinagar and nine kilograms of poppy straw was recovered from their possession.
“Kulgam police has registered a case FIR number 66/2018 under Section 8/15 NDPS in this regard and investigation was taken up,” he said.
