REASI, May 29: Police arrested two drug peddlers and seized 4.9 kg poppy straw, which was being smuggled by the duo in a Tata Mobile vehicle.
Reports said that during special naka, laid by Police near Zero Morh Reasi, under the leadership of SHO Reasi, Insp Ashwani Sharma, a Tata Mobile bearing registration number JK02AM-8079 on way from Kansi Patta towards Reasi, was intercepted.
The vehicle was being driven by driver Mohd Latief son of Mohd Hussain and co-driver Mohd Latief son of Mohd, both residents of Reasi. On search, 4.9 kg poppy straw was recovered from the vehicle. Police arrested both the accused and seized the poppy straw.
In this connection, a case FIR number 111/2019 u/s 8/15/29 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Reasi.
