UDHAMPUR, Feb 9: Udhampur Police today arrested two drug peddlers and recovered 10 grams of contraband Heroin like substance from their possession.
According to Police, the smugglers were travelling in a vehicle (JK20A-0056), which was intercepted by a Police party at Police Post Roundomail, led by IC PP Rhythm Sharma, under the supervision of SHO Udhampur Insp Raghubir Singh and DySP Hqrs Udhampur, Gurmeet Singh at Roundomail.
During checking, Police team recovered 10 grams of Heroin like substance and arrested both the accused persons on the spot. The accused were identified as Mohd Ashiq, son of Mohd Rafique, resident of Leray Kheri, Udhampur and Danish Sain, son of Sajid Sain of Leray Kheri, Udhampur.
In this regard, case FIR number 79/2023 under relevant sections of NDPS Act has been registered in PS Udhampur and investigation taken up.
Udhampur Police is also working on the involvement of others in this illegal narcotic trade.
