KATHUA, July 6: Kathua police has arrested two drug peddlers during the surprise checks in the town since yesterday.
A police party of Police Station Kathua during patrolling in Sawan Chak area late last night intercepted one person namely Joginder Paul @ Jinda S/o Gian Chand R/o Prithi Chack Kathua and recovered 20 grams of heroin from him.
The drug peddler had parked his motor cycle bearing regd. No. JK08-0836 near Canal area and was waiting for someone, police said.
During his frisking, 20 gms of Heroin were recovered from his possession. He has been taken into custody and a case FIR No. 196/2017 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act stands registered at P/S Kathua.
Continuing its drive today also the Kathua Police intercepted one person namely Makhan @ Makhnu S/o Kaku Ram R/o W.No.11, Kathua from Parliwand area in the town and during his search 120 intoxicant Capsules of Parvon-Spas Plus was recovered from his possession.
He has been taken into custody and a case FIR No. 198/2017 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act stands registered at P/S Kathua against him.
Both the drives were carried out under the supervision of S. S. Sambyal, DySP Hqrs,. Kathua and under the overall supervision of Mohd. Suleman Choudhary, SSP Kathua, by Inspector Anil Kumar Sharma, SHO PS Kathua. SI Verinder Singh, IC PP Hatli was also accompanying the SHO during the drive launched yesterday in Sawan Chak area.
