Srinagar, Aug 4: Police in Baramulla today arrested 2 drug peddlers and recovered contraband substances from their possession.
A police party of PP Palhallan at a checkpoint established at Palhallan Morh, arrested a drug peddler identified as Mudasir Ahmad Wani son of Manzoor Ahmad Wani resident of Raipora Palhallan, police said.
“During the search, officers recovered 145 grams of Charas from his possession.”
Similarly, a police party of PS Sheeri at a checkpoint established at Zandfaran Sheeri intercepted a suspicious person who after noticing the police party tried to flee from the spot but was apprehended tactfully.
“He has been identified as Waseem Ahmad Sheikh son of Abdul Majeed Sheikh resident of Heewan. During the search, 56 capsules of Spasmo-Proxyvon were recovered from his possession,” police said.
Both the drug peddlers, police said, have been shifted to police stations and cases under relevant sections of the law have been registered at respective police stations and investigations have been initiated.
