2 drug peddlers arrested in Kulgam

SRINAGAR, May 24: Police in Kulgam today arrested two drug peddlers and recovered psychotropic substance from their possession.
A Police party led by SHO Police Station Kulgam under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Kulgam during Naka checking at Srandoo crossing, intercepted three persons riding a Scooty bearing registration number JK03H-6702, police said.
“During the search, 29 bottles of liquor (Rum) and 20 bottles of Codeine Phosphate were recovered from their possession.”
As per police, they have been identified as Bilal Ahmad Dar, son of Nazir Ahmad Dar, resident of Bogund, and Gulzar Ahmad Dar son of Ghulam Qadir Dar, resident of Naibasti Anantnag.
“They have been arrested and shifted to the police station where they remain in custody,” police said, adding that one drug peddler Farooq Ahmad Dar, son of Abdul Rashid Dar, resident of Bogund managed to flee the spot.
Accordingly, police said, a case vide FIR No. 63/2022 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Kulgam and an investigation has been initiated.
