UDHAMPUR, Sept 18 The police arrested two drug-peddlers from Udhampur town and Chenani area and recovered toxic material from them.
A police spokesman said that police party from Sudhmahadev led by SI, Balram under the supervision of Charanjeet Singh SDPO Chennani during patrolling intercepted one person on his search 140 intoxicant capsules were recovered from his possession. He has been identified as Mehmood Malik, son of Mohd Amin, resident of Chappar Faggu, in Tehsil Latti. He used to sell these intoxicant capsules among the youngsters of the area for monetary benefits.
A case FIR No. 78/2018 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Chenani against him.
Udhampur police today recovered 4 gms of heroin from a narcotic smuggler near Sallian Talab locality. Based on a reliable information, a police party of led by ASI Mohd Iqbal, under the supervision of Zahid Wani, DySP Hqrs laid a naka at Sallian Talab. During checking, police nabbed one suspect and on his search four gms of heroin was recovered from the accused, he has been identified as Abhishek Gupta, son of Krishan Lal, resident of Sailan Talab, Udhampur. He was arrested on the spot. A case FIR No. 481/2018 was registered in this connection.
