2 drug peddlers arrested with 2000 intoxicant capsules

RAMBAN, Mar 21: Banihal police arrested two drug peddlers and recovered 2000 intoxicant capsules from their possession.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Police Post Jawahar Tunnel laid a naka and intercepted a Santro car bearing registration number JK01P-6306.
During checking, police team recovered 2000 intoxicant capsules from the vehicle and arrested the driver along with his associate.
The arrested persons have been identified as Asif Ishtaq, son of Ishtaq Ahmad and Bilal Ahmad Mir, son of Ali Mohammad Mir, both residents of Tankipora Srinagar.
A case under FIR Number 47/2020 under section 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Banihal and investigation started to ascertain the source of the consignment and others persons associated in this illegal trade.
The arrest was made by Incharge Jawahar Tunnel Police Post SI Wasim Mehraj, under the supervision of SHO Banihal Inspector Abid Hussain Bukhari, SDPO Banihal Ashish Gupta, Additional SP Ramban Sanjay Parihar and SSP Ramban Haseeb-ur-Rehman.
