2 drug peddlers arrested with heroin, cannabis, cash

JAMMU, July 24: Bus Stand and Dharamkund Police arrested two drug peddlers along with heroin, cannabis and cash.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Police Station Bus Stand apprehended a hardcore drug peddler along with 75 grams of heroin.
The arrested person was identified as Nitin Gupta alias Nannu, son of Pawan Gupta of Patoli Mangotrian District Jammu.
The accused person was hardcore drug smuggler and tried to get the local youth involved in drugs and was also supplying drugs among the youth. With his arrest, police saved the youth from becoming drug addict.
A case under FIR Number 48/2021 under Section 8/21/22 NDPS has been registered at Police Station Bus Stand Jammu and investigation set into motion.
A team from Police Station Bus Stand led by PSI Bhawani Singh made the arrest under the supervision of SHO Bus Stand Inspector Deepankar Singh, SDPO City Sharad Kalu, SP City Mohita Sharma and SSP Jammu Chandan Kohli.
Meanwhile, a team from Police Station Dharamkund conducted raid at a shop in Harog area and arrested one person along with 120 grams cannabis and Rs 1.25 lakh cash.
The arrested person was identified as Abdul Aziz alias Pardesi, son of Akbar Chopan of Harog Daramkund District Ramban.
During the preliminary questioning, the accused has confessed that he was illegally selling the contraband. Backward and forward linkages are being worked out.
A case under FIR Number 35/2021 under Section 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Dharamkund and investigation started.
The arrest was made by a team from Police Station Dharamkund headed by PSI Khemraj under the supervision of SHO Dharamkund Inspector Firdoos Ahmed and SDPO Gool Pardeep Kumar.
