JAMMU, Sept 7: Bhatindi and Gandhi Nagar police arrested two drug peddlers along with intoxicants.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Gandhi Nagar Police Station laid a naka and intercepted a scooty bearing registration number JK02BE-2504.
During checking, police team recovered 260 grams cannabis and 3 kilograms poppy straw from the vehicle and arrested the rider.
The accused has been identified as Harpreet Singh alias Gori, son of Kulbir Singh of Nanak Nagar, District Jammu, at present Dashmesh Nagar, District Jammu.
A case under FIR Number 242/19 under section 8/15/20 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Gandhi Nagar and investigation initiated.
Meanwhile, a team from Bhatindi Police Post led by SI Shahnawaz Giri apprehended a drug peddler along with 158 intoxicant capsules.
The arrested person has been identified as Nasir Ahmed, a resident of District Ramban.
A case under FIR Number 249/19 under relevant sections has been registered at Bahu Fort Police Station and investigation started.
