REASI, Nov 21: During the ongoing special drive against the drug menace, Reasi Police in two separate successful attempts today, nabbed two drug peddlers and seized contraband from their possession.
SI Suman Singh and his team arrested a drug peddler in Katra and recovered three gram Heroin like substance and 500 capsules of Tramadol capsules, which have been banned to be sold without prescription.
The accused, namely Manik Dogra son of Bodh Raj Dogra of ward number 6, Main Bazar, Katra, was coming from Parthal link road when he was intercepted by the Police. A case FIR number 234/2018 u/s 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered in this connection at PS Katra.
During a special naka laid by Insp Ashwani Sharma, SHO Reasi, along with SI Nitin Khajuria, Police team intercepted one Ashok Kumar son of Ganga Ram of Bagani, tehsil -Kot Bhalwal, who was traveling in his Santro car bearing registration number JK02R 0916 at Simbal Choa. During checking, 15 gms of charas was recovered from his possession. In this connection, a case FIR number 200/2018 u/s 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered and investigation ensued.
It is worthwhile to mention here that recently Reasi Police had already apprehended drug peddlers Manish Kumar alias Munna, son of Prem Kumar of Serwad, Katra in case FIR number 192/2018, Ajay Singh son of Virender Singh of Vijaypur and Anchal Singh son of Sher Singh of Bhaga alongwith motor cycle number JK20-5401 in case FIR number 194/2018 and Pawan Singh, son of Aman Singh of Trintha Reasi in case FIR number 197/2018 .
The operation is being carried out under the direct supervision of Dr Nikhil Gogna Dy SP Hqrs Reasi.
