2 drug smugglers nabbed with heroin

JAMMU, Mar 27: In a major crackdown on drug trafficking the Rajouri police nabbed two persons in possession of 58 grams of heroin during patrolling near Children’s Park, Rajouri.
A police team from Police Station Rajouri was on routine patrolling, when two individuals upon noticing the police presence attempted to turn back. Their suspicious behavior prompted the police to chase and intercept them.
During the questioning the accused were identified as Vinod Singh, son of Mahinder Singh, resident of Fatehpur in district Amritsar in Punjab and Raja Singh, son of Tara Singh, resident of Rakh Shikargarh, Amritsar in Punjab.
During their personal search the police recovered heroin, weighing 58 grams from their possession. In this regard a case FIR No. 155/2025 under relevant Sections of NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Rajouri.
Both the accused have been arrested and the recovered contraband has been seized as evidence. Further, investigation is underway to trace the backward and forward linkages of the drug network.
