RAMBAN, Mar 19: Banihal Police nabbed two drug traffickers and recovered one kilogram cannabis from their possession.
As per police sources, on reliable information, a team from Banihal Police Station laid a naka near T-Chowk and intercepted two pedestrians, who were moving under suspicious circumstances.
During checking, police recovered one kilogram cannabis from the possession of these pedestrians and arrested them.
The arrested persons have been identified as Shabir Ahmed Chopan, son of Mohammad Shahban Chopan of Krawah, Tehsil Banihal and Yawar Ahmed, son of Mohammad Ashraf Dar of Charsoo Awantipora.
A case under FIR Number 28/19 under relevant Sections has been registered at Banihal Police Station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Banihal Inspector Aijaz Ahmed Wani and DySP Police Component (PC) Banihal Arvind Badgal made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Banihal Sajjad Sarwar, Additional SP Ramban Sanjay Parihar and SSP Ramban Anita Sharma.
