2 girls consume poison, hospitalized

KATHUA, Mar 27: Two young girls were admitted in District Hospital Kathua after they consumed some poisonous substance under mysterious circumstances at their residences in Dhanore falling under jurisdiction of Lakhanpur Police Station and Basai falling under the jurisdiction of Kathua Police Station.
As per reports a young girl of class 10th standard identified as Sabnam, 16, daughter of Rattan Singh resident of Dhanore, Lakhanpur was admitted in District Hospital Kathua when she consumed some poisonous substance at her residence today. The doctors gave immediate treatment to her in the Hospital and her condition is stated to be stable.
The reports said that she did not perform well in Matric examination and was under depression so she took this extreme step. The Lakhanpur Police has registered a case under relevant sections of law in this regard.
In another case a young girl identified as Renu Bala, 18, daughter of Som Raj resident of Basai, Kathua consumed some poisonous substance at her residence and she was shifted to District Hospital Kathua in a critical condition.  As she became critical, the doctors referred her to GMC Jammu for specialized treatment.
