REASI, Sept 21: Two Government Teachers among nine persons have been arrested for their alleged involvement in an attack on Police party in Chassana area last month.
The arrested persons have been identified as Pawan Singh, son of Jia Lal, Riaz son of Safdar Hussain Shah, Chanar Singh son of Paras Ram, Chain Singh son of Bikram Singh, Balbir Singh son of Chain Singh, Sukhdev son of Anant Ram ( all residents of Thalkote), Dalip Singh son of Boti Ram of Bagan Kote, Balbir Singh son of Suraj Singh of Dhandakote, Rakesh Singh son of Kashmir Singh of Thalkote.
They were wanted in case FIR number 35/2021, U/S 341, 353, 382, 147, 149, 336, 504, 506, 224, 225, 120B IPC & Section 3 of Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act-1984, registered in Police Station Chassana.
Accused Riaz Shah is a Government teacher by profession. Police said that he was earlier remained involved in case FIR number 6/2017 U/S 341, 323, 382 RPC of Police Station Chassana. Chain Singh is also a Government Teacher by profession and he was earlier involved in case FIR number 21/2020 U/S 341, 323, 336 IPC.
A case of theft was proved against Dalip Singh in case FIR number 51/2015, under section 379, 201, 447, 34 RPC & charge sheet was produced in the court of law against him. Case of Kidnapping and Rape was proved against accused Chanar Singh in case FIR no 40/ 2013 US 363, 376, 147, 212, 452 RPC & charge sheet was produced in court of law against the accused.
It may be recalled that case FIR number 35/2021 was registered in Police Station Chassana on 31st of August 2021 when some alleged criminals of the area attacked police party soon after a former Sarpanch namely Prem Singh of Thakrakote Chassana, who was wanted in rape case, had been arrested.
According to Police, Prem Singh is a notorious history-sheeter involved in ten FIR cases, including four cases of attack on police, firing by weapon issued under Village Defense Committees, attempt to murder and rape.
After the August 31 episode in Chassana, Police was in search of all the miscreants involved in creating mischief and law and order problem in the area.
