2 Gujjar youth kidnapped, beaten up mercilessly

KATHUA, Mar 8: Two youth belonging to Gujjar community were allegedly kidnapped and beaten up mercilessly and given electric shocks by bovine smugglers yesterday night in Maggar Khud area near, here.
As per reports both the youth are admitted in GMC Kathua after they succeeded in freeing themselves from the clutches of kidnappers. Both are seriously injured. They have been identified as Mohammed Abbas, son of Mohammed Latif and Kuwait Shah son of Ghulam Mohd residents of Maggar Khud , Kathua.
As per statement of injured youth a group of bovine smugglers forced their entry in the house of Mohammed Abbas during Saturday night and kidnapped him and took him to isolated place doubting him as the police informer and leaking all secrets of bovine smuggling to police.
Another youth Kuwait was also called on telephone to an isolated unknown place by the smugglers. A group of bovine smugglers equipped with sharp edged weapons and lathis beat up both the youth mercilessly. They were tortured, given electric shocks and were asked to intimate them the names of informers of police who are active in the area to thwart the bovine smuggling bids. The youth turned unconscious after they were mercilessly beaten. They claimed that they escaped in the early morning giving slip to kidnappers and informed their family members about the episode. They were admitted in GMC Kathua and are under treatment.
The Lakhanpur Police has registered a case under FIR No 38/21, under Sections 365, 147, 148, 142, 323 and 341.
SHO Lakhanpur, Arvind Sambyal told this reporter that as per statement of the duo, all details of kidnapping and their mercilessly beaten up have been recorded. The police team started manhunt to nab the accused.
