JAMMU, Apr 11: Police claimed today that they have arrested two persons with 4.10 grams of heroin from Bishnah area here.
A police spokesperson said that a naka was established at Mahmoodpur for checking/frisking of vehicles and pedestrians.
During naka checking, he said, police party found an e-rickshaw on way from Sikanderpur towards Bishnah side.
“The police party signalled to stop the vehicle but the driver of the e-rickshaw didn’t stop. He was later overpowered,” he said.
The police spokesperson added that during search, 2 grams of heroin was recovered from one Vijay Kumar of Digiana and 2.10 grams of heroin from another person identified as Vipan Kumar of Rakh, Nihalpur, Simbal.
Police have booked the accused in case FIR number 82/2023 under sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act registered at Police Station Bishnah and taken up further investigation.
