NOWSHERA, Mar 9: In a major crackdown on drug- trafficking, the Nowshera Police apprehended two persons in possession of 26 grams of heroin during a naka at Rajal.
Official sources said that a police team from Police Station, Nowshera, led by SHO Inspector Arjun Magotra, during checking of vehicles and pedestrians intercepted two individuals. Their suspicious behavior prompted swift action by the police. They were nabbed.
Upon inquiry, the suspects identified as Ankit Kumar, son of Suresh Kumar, resident of Manpur, currently residing in Nowshera and Sagar Kumar, son of Bittu Kumar, resident of Nonial, Nowshera.
During their personal search, the police recovered a heroin-like narcotic substance weighing 26 grams from their possession. A case has been registered under FIR No. 24/2025 at Police Station Nowshera under the relevant sections of the NDPS Act. Both accused have been taken into custody, and the recovered contraband has been seized as evidence.
Further investigation is underway to identify backward and forward linkages of the drug network and dismantle the entire supply chain.
