2 held with large quantity of illicit liquor pouches

UDHAMPUR, Oct 1: Chennai police arrested two persons along with 87 pouches of illicit liquor from two different areas.
As per police sources, police team from Chenani police station intercepted a person namely Surinder Singh, son of Dewan Singh of Madha for checking on suspicious grounds.
During checking, police recovered 37 pouches of illicit liquor and arrested the accused on the spot.
A case under FIR Number 87/15 under Section 48-A Excise Act has been registered against him at Chenani police station and investigation started.
Meanwhile, police team from Chenani police station during patrolling intercepted a person namely Raju Sheikh, son of Gani of Batna for checking.
Police recovered 50 pouches of illicit liquor from his possession and arrested him on the spot.
A case under FIR Number 88/15 under Section 48-A Excise Act has been registered at Chenani police station and investigation started.
Both the accused were carrying the illicit liquor to their native areas for sale among the masses on exorbitant rates, but their designs were thwarted by Chenani police.
Police team led by SHO Chenani police station Inspector Mahesh Sharma made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Chenani Vinod Sharma and SSP Udhampur Suleman Chowdhary.
