CHANDIGARH, Dec 21:
The Punjab Police has busted a gangster module with the arrest of two members and seized from them two pistols and cartridges, a top officer said on Saturday.
The Punjab Police’s Counter Intelligence, Pathankot, seized two sophisticated 9 mm Glock pistols along with four magazines and 14 cartridges, Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav said.

The arrested accused have been identified as Sunil Kumar alias Ashu of Rauwal and Dilpreet Singh alias Dil of Raimal, both in Batala city.
Kumar has a criminal history with a case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act registered against him.
He was released on bail from the Gurdaspur jail on February 27.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the accused received the consignment from the Ajnala area of Amritsar on the directions of their handlers. They were meant to deliver the weapons to an unidentified person, Yadav said.
Further investigations are underway to uncover the source of the weapons and identify more suspects involved in the network, the DGP added.
Assistant Inspector General (Counter Intelligence, Pathankot) Sukhminder Singh Mann said a tipoff was received that Kumar and Singh were in touch with some unidentified gangsters and recently received a consignment of arms and ammunition from them.
Acting on the input, Punjab Police teams arrested both the accused.
Mann said efforts were underway to track the previous consignments retrieved and delivered by the accused.
A case has been registered under Section 25 of the Arms Act and provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita at the State Special Operation Cell police station in Amritsar. (PTI)
