2 hit & run cases solved in Kulgam, accused arrested

Srinagar, June 23: Police in Kulgam today said to have solved two hit-and-run cases and arrested the accused persons involved in the commission of crime.
Police Station Qazigund received information that three persons riding on a motorcycle were hit by an unknown vehicle at Gundipora Qazigund resulting in on the spot death of two persons namely Nisar Ahmad Thokar and Javid Ahmad Thokar, both the sons of Abdul Gani Thokar, residents of Sopat, Tengpora.
“However the injured person namely Mushtaq Ahmad Najar, son of Ghulam Rasool Najar resident of Sopat Tangpora was immediately shifted to hospital for treatment of his injuries,” police said.
The driver of the vehicle namely Bilal Ahmad Wani son of Ghulam Nabi Wani resident of Chamalvas Banihal, police said, was arrested and the vehicle bearing registration number JK01F-8968 was also seized. He has been shifted to the Police Station where he remains in custody.
Meanwhile, in another incident, Police Station Qaimoh received information that a vehicle bearing registration No. JK02AB-0099 hit and injured three pedestrians namely Rumeena Jan, Mubeena Akther and Jasim Mohammad Dar, all residents of Gufbal, Qaimoh. The injured persons were immediately shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment.
“The driver of the vehicle namely Ghulam Jeelani son of Ali Mohammad Wani resident of Firdous Colony Buchpora Srinagar was arrested and the vehicle involved in the commission of offence has also been seized,” police said.
Accordingly, cases under the relevant sections of law stand registered in respective police stations and investigation have been initiated.
