2 houses built on forest land demolished

RAJOURI, Mar 9: Forest Department Rajouri and Forest Protection Force, during a special campaign on Saturday, demolished two Kutcha houses built on forest land and retrieved hundreds of kanals of land.
The Forest officials also gave a strict warning to those building houses on forest, saying that if such things happen again, then strict legal action will be taken against them. The special operation was conducted by the Forest Protection Force (FPF) and the Forest Territorial staff in Kalal Kas Block of Kandi Range of Rajouri Forest Division during which two illegal structures built on the forest land were demolished.
FPF Assistant Director Masued Ahmed said that notices had been sent earlier also to those doing illegal construction on forest land asking them to demolish their illegal constructions themselves, but when they did not do so even after sending notices repeatedly, concerned departments were forced to do so.
By conducting a special operation on Saturday with the help of police, both the illegal structures were demolished and hundreds of kanals of land which was illegally occupied by the people was recovered.
