2 houses gutted

KATHUA, Jan 18: Two houses belonging to real brothers were burnt in a major fire incident at village Barwal today.
Reports said the wooden houses belonging to Ramneek Singh and Sardar Singh of Barwal, with tin roofs caught fire due to short circuit during the day today. The family believed that it was raining light and due to short circuit, the house caught fire. It spread to adjoining house of his brother and the family ran away to safety. Most of their belongings could not be saved. Later, fire tender was rushed but by then both the structures had razed to ground.
The district administration provided immediate relief from out of Red Cross Society fund to the affected families. The police has taken cognizance of the matter.
