MENDHAR, Nov 19: Five persons were injured while fighting fire in two houses at Galuta village in district Poonch last night.
Police said the incident took place at around 12.30 midnight. The house of one Mohd Nazir (Head Constable JKAP) caught fire and its flames also engulfed the adjoining house of Mohd Razak (ex-serviceman). The two adjoining houses were however, saved by the people and family members. Entire property worth lakhs of these two villagers was destroyed in the blaze.
Five persons who sustained burn injuries during the mishap were removed to Sub District Hospital, Mendhar. They were identified as Naseem Ahmed, Zahoor Ahmed, Zaheer Ahmed, Safeer Ahmed and Abdul Majid. The police has taken cognizance of the matter. Tehsildar Mendhar visited the village and assured the families to provide necessary relief.
