REASI, May 22: Police today smashed two illicit liquor distills and arrested the bootleggers in a village under the jurisdiction of Reasi Police Station.
A specific information was received by Reasi Police that some persons at village Salal Khad were indulged in manufacturing of illicit liquor. On this information, a Police party led by Mohan Lal, Dy SP Hqrs Reasi, along with Inspector Dalip Singh, SHO P/S Reasi and I/C PP Jyotipuram, rushed to the spot and conducted raids in the house of Angrez Singh and Ranjeet Singh at Salal Khad. Police team seized one litre of illicit liquor alongwith other material, which was being used for preparation of illegal liquor. 2000 litres Lahan was also recovered and destroyed on the spot.
The accused persons were arrested and a case FIR No. 81/2016 U/S 48-(a)(e) Excise Act has been registered in this connection at Police Station Reasi.
