UDHAMPUR, July 22: Two persons were seriously injured when a rolling boulder from a hillock hit Innova car near Khari on the Udhampur National Highway, here today.
The incident took place around 4.30 pm when the car bearing registration number JK01U-2699 was hit by the rolling boulder Locals and police shifted the injured persons to District Hospital Udhampur where doctors referred them GMC Hospital Jammu because of their serious condition.
The injured were identified as Gulam Nabi Wani (50), son of Gulam Rasool Wani of Khushial Pur Sopore Kashmir and Rukaya, daughter of Abdul Haq of Srinagar.
Meanwhile, a man attempted suicide by consuming some poisonous substance at his house in village Latyar in Panchari.
The man, identified as Vinod Kumar (39), son of Shiv Dass of village Latyar Panchari, was taken to DH Udhampur where doctors referred him to GMC Hospital Jammu. His condition was stated to be critical and cause of provocation was not yet ascertained.
