2 injured as truck rolls down

UDHAMPUR, May 31:  Driver and Cleaner of a truck were injured when their vehicle rolled down into deep gorge at Champari near Chenani.
According to the reports, the truck bearing registration number PB11BN-5412, was on way from Jammu to Kashmir when it met with the accident near Champari. Locals rushed to the spot and shifted the injured persons to Sub District Hospital Chenani.
The injured were identified as truck driver Pomis Massih (22), son of Beer Massih of Gurdaspur (Punjab) and Cleaner Bichitr Singh (19), son of Surinder Singh of Gurdaspur.
Meanwhile, the road at Deol near Sudhmahadev, which was completely blocked due to cloud burst and consequent landslides in the area, was partially opened today for light vehicles.
The road was badly damaged due to last evening cloudburst and heavy rainfall, which also damaged Deol temple. Even as men and machinery were pressed into service, the road blockage could not be cleared. The work on the road is on and is likely to be cleared by tomorrow morning.
