RAJOURI, Dec 9: Two persons were seriously injured when a car met with an accident on Jammu-Poonch National Highway, near Chowki Choura, here today.
Reports said that the Swift car, bearing registration number JK02DH- 9965 skidded off the road and turned turtle apparently due to over speeding, this morning. The accident left two individuals injured, while the unidentified driver of the vehicle fled from the scene.
The injured have been identified as Ram Bahadur, son of Nahar Bahadur, resident of Nepal and Aqib Ahmad, son of Kamal Ahmad, resident of Mendhar, district Poonch.
According to the Block Medical Officer (BMO), both the injured received initial treatment at a nearby medical facility and due to severity of their injuries, they were referred to Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu for advanced treatment. The police have initiated an investigation to trace the driver and ascertain the circumstances leading to the accident.
