JAMMU, Jan 24: President Pranab Mukherjee today announced Correctional Services Medal for Meritorious Services in favour of two Prison Department officials and Jeevan Raksha Padak for three citizens of Jammu and Kashmir on the eve of Republic Day on January 26.
Harish Kotwal, Superintendent, District Jail Kathua and Hillal Ahmad Rather, Deputy Superintendent, District Jail Anantnag have been awarded with Correctional Service Medal for Meritorious Service.
They were among a total of 39 officials awarded with the medal countrywide on the eve of Republic Day.
The President of India has also awarded three citizens of Jammu and Kashmir with Jeevan Raksha Padak.
They included Prakash Bhushan Jha, Suresh Lal and Gurdev Singh.
A total of 28 persons have been awarded Jeevan Raksha Padak nationwide.
