2 JCBs, 3 vehicles seized for illegal mining

KATHUA, Mar 3: Kathua police today seized two JCBs engaged in illegal mining and handed over them to Mining Department for further action against them under rules while Samba police seized three vehicles for illegal mining in the jurisdiction of Ramgarh Police Station.
Police said a team of Police Post (PP) Nagri under the supervision of Inspector, Vicky Thapa in its jurisdictional area found two JCB’S bearing registration number, JK08E-3515 and JK08E7539 respectively engaged in illegal mining near Sar Khad, Chak Drab Khan (Nagri).
Later on both of the JCB’s were seized and were immediately handed over to the officials of the Mining Department, Kathua for further legal proceedings.
District Police Samba seized three vehicles including one Dumper and two Tractor-Trollies in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS) Ramgarh, which were being used for illegal transportation of the construction material.
A police team of PS Ramgarh while performing patrolling duty in its jurisdictional area, intercepted three vehicles including a Dumper bearing registration number JK20-2893, Tractor-Trolleys one having registration number JK21C-0880 and other without registration number at naka Chak Salarian for illegal mining and illegal transportation of construction material (Sand and Bajri).
All the three vehicles intercepted by Samba Police were seized on spot and cases entrusted to Geology & Mining Department, Samba for further action.
