SRINAGAR, June 20: Two persons died and 10 others were injured in different road accidents across the Valley.
Reports said that a Scorpio bearing registration number JK07/1641 on way from Srinagar to Kargil rolled down into gorge, near Hawas Camp, Sonamarg, resulting in injuries to four passengers. The injured persons were shifted to Public Health Centre, Sonamarg where Amarjeet Singh, son of Charu Ram resident of Chandigarh succumbed to his injuries.
A motorcycle bearing registration number JK01J/9578 driven by Nawaz Ahmad Sofi son of Mohammad Anwar resident of Ratnipora met with an accident near Nawda-Pulwama, resulting in his on spot death and injures to the pillion riders, Faheem Ahmad Mir and Rayees Ahmad Mir. Nawaz’s body was handed over to next of his kin while as the injured were shifted to Sub District Hospital, Pulwama for treatment.
A Tata Sumo bearing registration number JK05A/1134 on way from Manigah to Kupwara hit and injured Maroofa Begum wife of late Ghulam Khan resident of Manigah, Kupwara. The injured lady was hospitalized. Police has registered a case in this regard.
A tanker bearing registration number JK05A/3329 while on way from Bandipora to Sumbal hit a motorcycle bearing registration JK01F/2169, near Saderkoot Bala, Ajas, resulting in injuries to motorcyclist, Showkat Ahmad son of Ghulam Mohammad resident of Lawdara, Bandipora. The injured was shifted to hospital for treatment.
A motorcycle bearing registration number JK18/3643 collided with another motorcycle bearing registration number DL50/1450, near Nehama, Kulgam, resulting in injuries to one of the motorcyclists namely Shahnawaz Ahmad son of Abdul Aziz resident of Awahato, Kulgam. The injured was shifted to hospital for treatment. Police has registered a case in this regard.
A tipper bearing registration number JK01F/0483 rammed into a tree at Takiya Batpora, Kunzar, resulting in injuries to two persons. Both the injured were shifted to hospital for treatment.
A Verna car bearing registration number JK03C/6300 while on way from Srinagar to Baramulla collided with a scooter bearing registration number JK01A/6306 at Singh Bagh, near CMP Cheek Post, Baramulla, resulting in injuries to Scooterist Mohammad Maqbool Malik son of Ghulam Mohammad resident of Tawheed Gunj. The injured was shifted to hospital for treatment. Police has registered a case in this regard.
