SRINAGAR, Oct 18: Two persons were killed and 10 others sustained injuries in different road accidents across the Kashmir valley.
Police said that a bus bearing registration number JK01B/2945 hit a cyclist Muffasir Ahmad Pandith, son of Mohammad Maqbool, resident of Sopore at Wadoora resulting in his on the spot death.
In another accident, an unidentified motorcyclist hit and injured a pedestrian Mohammad Yousuf Baktoo, son of Jala Baktoo of Barbarshah at Lal Chowk near Hotel Lala Rukh, Srinagar. The injured was shifted to SMHS Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
Police said a Figo vehicle bearing registration number JK01P/1115 driven by Gulzar Ahmad Ganie, son of Ali Mohammad, resident of Chandripora Tral collided with Sumo bearing registration number JK22/2412 at Padshahi Bagh, Anantnag resulting in injuries to driverof Figo vehicle. The injured was shifted to hospital for treatment.
A bus bearing registration number JK01H/9870 collided with Maruti car bearing registration number JK05B/8813 at Janbazpora near Juice Factory Baramulla resulting in injuries to five persons travelling in the Maruti car. The injured were shifted to District Hospital Baramulla and SMHS Hospital for treatment.
Police said a Tata mobile bearing registration number JK01J/6587 skidded off the road and fell down in deep gorge at Dardkote, Baramulla, resulting in injuries to driver Mohammad Farooq Khan, son of Mohammad Bashir and another passenger Mohammad Aslam Khan, son of Raj Wali, residents of Dardkote Uri.
An Alto bearing registration number JK01L/7670 hit three pedestrians Sharifa, wife of Ghulam Nabi, Tufail Ahmad Rather, son of Mohammad Amin and Shugufta, daughter of Ghulam Nabi, residents of Wusan Ganderbal near Petrol Pump Ganderbal. The injured were shifted to Wusan Hospital. Later, Shugufta was referred to SKIMS Soura for specialized treatment.
Police said an Indica car bearing registration JK02M/0911 hit and injured a boy Viky Rashid, resident of Muran Pulwama near Muran. The injured was shifted to SKIMS, Soura, Srinagar for treatment.
