REASI, Dec 25: In a tragic incident, two youth died while 12 others, mostly young girls, were injured when a van carrying marriage party plunged into deep gorge near Chassana, here today.

The van, bearing registration number JK20C 2474, was on way from Balmatkote towards Badar when it skidded off the road near Damni area of Chassana and fell into deep gorge resulting into on the spot death of one person and injuries to 13 others.
The deceased was identified as Mohd Ashraf (25), son of Majeed, resident of Badder. The injured were shifted to PHC Chassana and CHC Mahore for treatment. One of them succumbed to injuries on way to hospital. He was identified as 17-year old Tahir Ahmed.
Other injured, undergoing treatment at hospital, were identified as Taiba Jan (12), daughter of Mohd Mushtaq, Mohd Wasim (10), son of Mohd Rafiq, Shazia Akhter (13), daughter of Mohd Mushtaq, Kulsoom Akhter (17) daughter of Mohd Mushtaq, Masrat Naz (14), daughter of Aabid Hussain, Nusrat Akhter (10), daughter of Javid Ahmed, Mehbooba Akhter, daughter of Ghulam Mohi Din, Shabnam Akhter (19), daughter of Mushtaq Ahmed, Nishad Ahmed son of Mohd Ameen, Khanisa Kouser (3), daughter of Shareef Din, Shamshad Akhter, daughter of Aabid Hussain and Shareef Din (23), son of Mohd Ameen.
