KATHUA, Feb 26: Two persons including a BSF jawan were killed in two separate accidents in Kathua today.
As per reports a BSF jawan and his wife were seriously injured after their bike hit a damaged railing on National Highway opposite GMC Kathua while giving side to a vehicle which over took it.

As per reports the security personal was riding on his bike Number PB35Y 5604 with his wife from Pathankot to Kathua. In order to give side to the vehicle which tried to overtake his two -wheeler, his bike hit a damaged safety railing lying on the road and the couple got seriously injured. They were immediately shifted to GMC Kathua for treatment where from doctors referred them to GMC Jammu in serious condition.
However, the family shifted the duo to Amandeep Hospital Pathankot where the BSF jawan succumbed to his injuries.

The deceased has been identified as Kashmir Singh, son of Dalip Singh and his wife, Malti resident of Pathankot at present Rajbagh ,Kathua. He was posted in Kathua district. The eye witness said that the bike was hit with damaged railing on highway. The damaged railing had already caused fatal accidents and National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) did not bother to repair or remove the damaged iron railing from there. The local people showed serious concern over the slackness of concerned authorities. Such points on NH are still mark of danger for vehicles plying on the road during darkness or broad day light, the locals said.
Kathua police has registered a case under relevant sections of the law in this regard.In another incident two bikes coming from opposite direction collided head on with each other on Nagri road near Changrah this evening resulting into death of one biker and injuries to two others.
The deceased has been identified as Trido Kumar, son of Hansraj of Payari Nagri area in Kathua district.
Reports said that two bikes collided with each other resulting in the injury of two bikers and one pillion rider. However one biker Trido Kumar was seriously injured who was rushed to GMC Kathua where doctors declared him as brought dead.
The other two are undergoing treatment in GMC Kathua and they are out of danger. The dead body has been kept in mortuary at GMC, Kathua where after autopsy it will be handed over to family for last rites tomorrow.
The Kathua Police has registered a case in this regard under relevant sections of the law.
