2 killed, 4 injured as Maruti car plunges into gorge

BHADERWAH, Aug 31: Two persons were killed, while four others including a minor girl received injuries, when the Maruti car, they were traveling in, skidded off the road and plunged into deep gorge near Thanella here.
The ill-fated vehicle bearing registration number JKO2AP-8421 was on its way to Bhaderwah from Thanalla, when the driver lost control over the steering and the vehicle rolled down into deep gorge near Thanella.
On getting information, police and locals rushed to the spot and shifted the six injured occupants of the car to District Hospital Doda, where doctors pronounced two of them as brought dead, while the condition of four others was stated to be stable, when reports last came in.
The deceased have been identified as Irshad Ahmed (38), son of Ghulam Mohammad and Nisar Ahmed (36), son of Abdullah Wani, both residents of Aul Udhanpur, district Doda.
The injured have been identified as Mashook Ahmed (38), son of Abdul Latief, Abdul Karim (39), son of Asadullah Wani, Abdul Hamid (40), son of Atta Mohammad and Ayana Tabassium (10), daughter of Abdul Hamid, all residents of Aul Udhanpur, district Doda.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered in this regard at concerned police station and investigation started.
