RAJOURI, June 28: Two persons were killed while five others injured when a Maruti car fell into a 200 feet deep gorge near Sunderbani this morning.
A police spokesman said that mishap took place at around 6.30 am when the Maruti car, bearing registration No. JK02AG/4840 was on its way to Mendhar from Jammu. As the vehicle reached at Thanda Pani near Sunderbani, the driver lost control and the car landed into nearly 200 feet deep gorge.
While Mohd Sadiq, son of Alam Din of village Ari (Mendhar) was killed on the spot, six other injured persons were removed to Sunderbani hospital. All the seriously injured were then referred to GMC Hospital Jammu. Critically injured Hajra Khatoon, daughter of Mohd Farooq of Ari village succumbed in GMC Hospital.
Other injured persons admitted to GMC Hospital Jammu are Mohd Farooq, Shabnam, Arzia Farooq, Shah Nawaj and Ghulam Mohammed, all hailing from the same village.They were returning to Ari in Mendhar from Jammu in their own car. The police has taken cognizance.
