2 killed, 5 injured in two road accidents

SAMBA, May 17:  Two persons were killed while five others were injured in two separate road accidents which took place on Jammu-Pathankote National Highway near Nanake Chak falling under the jurisdiction of Samba Police Station.
One accident took place early this morning, when three persons traveling on a motor bike from Samba to Vijaypur were hit by an unknown vehicle.   Two persons died on spot and another was injured seriously who has been admitted in GMC Jammu for treatment.
The deceased have been identified Balwinder Singh 23, son of Paramjit Raj resident of village Nanga Ramgarh and Darshan Singh 60, son of Nanak Singh of village Bandral, Ramgarh while the seriously injured person has been identified as Harpreet Singh, 24, son of Bhajan Singh of village Nanga Ramgarh.
In the second accident which took place in the afternoon in the same area, four persons traveling in a Scorpio bearing number DL10CT-0266  were injured when the vehicle rolled on the road after an unknown vehicle coming from opposite direction on wrong side tried to hit it. The driver lost the control and the vehicle rolled on the road resulting into injuries to four persons traveling in it.
The Scorpio was on its way from Haryana to Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Katra.  The locals shifted all the four injured persons to Emergency Hospital Vijaypur where from doctors referred them to GMC Jammu.
The injured have been identified as Surinder Kumar, 42, son of Ranbir Kumar, his wife Sunil Kumari, 38, their six year old son Chirag and one Reena Devi, wife of Vikas. All are residents of Bahadur Garh, Bhiwani Haryana. Chirag is in a critical condition.
The Samba Police has registered cases for further investigation.
