POONCH, July 12: A child and a woman, probably mother and her son, were killed while four other children among six persons were injured when a Bolero car met with an accident at Panar area on Mughal Road, here today.
Official sources said that a Bolero vehicle, bearing registration number JK02DJ- 5386 was on its way from Rajouri to Kashmir via Mughal road, when it fell into deep gorge at Panar area, resulting into on the spot death of a woman and child.
Soon after receiving information, Police and locals launched rescue operation and all the injured, along with dead bodies, were shifted to SDH Surankote.
Deceased woman was identified as Ujla Begum, wife of Mohd Azam while identity of the deceased child was not yet ascertained. Police said he is probably son of the deceased woman.
Block Medical Officer Dr Yousuf said that the injured persons include four children and driver of the vehicle. After first aid, they were later shifted to GMC Hospital Rajouri for advanced treatment. Condition of two children was stated to be critical.
