POONCH/ RAJOURI, Nov 7: Two persons were killed while another injured in two separate road accidents in Surankote area of Poonch while six passengers were injured when a bus met with an accident near Nowshera in district Rajouri today.
Official sources said that a load carrier (Three- wheeler) was hit by an unknown truck at Dograin, near Poshana on Mughal Road during wee hours today. The load carrier (JK22/5646), loaded with apples was on way to Surankote from Shopian for sale. The three-wheeler driver was killed on the spot. The body was kept lying on the road for long. Then some body informed police about the matter.
Police party from Behramgalla reached the spot and shifted the dead body of the deceased to Surankote hospital. The deceased was later identified as Abdul Shafi, son of Mohd Shafi, resident of Talulpora, Shopian. The police has registered a case FIR No. 264/ 2017 in this connection.
Two brothers were critically injured when their car rolled into a gorge at Fazlabad in Surankote this evening. While one of them succumbed to injuries while being shifted to Surankote hospital, the other was referred to GMC Hospital, Jammu.
The deceased has been identified as Adil Qayoom (22), son of Abdul Qayoom, resident of Surankote. Condition of his elder brother, Sajjad Qayoom (24) was said to be serious. The police has taken cognizance of the matter.
Meanwhile, six persons were injured when the bus met with an accident after brake failure near Nowshera. The alert driver, turned the front wheel of the bus into the deep drain towards hill side and saved the passengers. However, six passengers sustained minor injuries and were shifted to Nowshera hospital. They were identified as Virta Devi, Kanta Devi, Iqbal Shah, Duty Lal, Teeza Begum and Fozia. The bus was on way to Rajouri from Jammu.
