2 killed, 8 injured in road mishaps

SRINAGAR, Aug 31: Two persons were killed while eight others were injured in different road accidents across the Valley.
A police spokesman said that a motorcycle driven by Javed Ahmad Ansari, a resident of Bijnoor Uttar Pradesh, was hit by unknown vehicle at Dangam Bridge, resulting in on spot death of the motorcyclist. He said the police have registered a case in this regard.
The spokesman said that a Tata 407 vehicle bearing registration number JK01B-2833 hit and injure a pedestrian Javed Ahmad Bhat at Sonwar Bagh in city here. “The injured was shifted to SMHS hospital for treatment where he succumbed to his injuries. Police registered a case in this regard,” the spokesman said.
In Awantipora area of Pulwama district, the spokesman said, a passenger LP 608 vehicle bearing registration number JK13-5189 turned turtle at Shairabad in the jurisdiction of Police Station Tral, resulting in injuries to few passengers. “All the injured persons were shifted to Sub District Hospital Tral for treatment. Police have registered a case in this regard,” he said.
An LP vehicle bearing registration number JK04A-0214 turned turtle at Tangnar in Khan Sahab area of central Kashmir’s Budgam district. “The injured were shifted to Sub District Hospital Khan Sahib wherefrom 3 of them were referred to SMHS Hospital for further treatment. Police have registered a case in this regard,” the spokesman said.
