RAMBAN, Nov 4: Two persons were killed and another critically injured when their Alto car crashed into an emergency exit gate inside a tunnel along the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway near here.

The ill-fated vehicle bearing registration number JK14A-9978 was on its way to Ramban from Udhampur when the driver lost control over the vehicle and it collided with gate number 16 inside Chenani-Nashri tunnel along Jammu-Srinagar National Highway late last night, resulting into on the spot death of two persons and serious injuries to another.
On getting information, police team rushed to the spot and shifted the injured person to Sub District Hospital (SDH) Chenani, where he was responding to the treatment, when last reports came in.
The deceased were identified as Bittu Sharma, son of Hans Raj of Kriya Maitra, Ramban and Sudesh Pandit, son of Kaka Ram of Sana Batote , while the injured was identified as Ganesh Goutam, son of Suram Chand of Kriya Maitra district Ramban.
A case under relevant sections has been registered at Batote Police Station and investigation started.
