POONCH, Dec 22: Two persons were killed while two others injured after a car fell into a gorge near Mandi in district Poonch today.
A police spokesman said that mishap took place when four persons were on way to Fatehpur from Mandi in a Santro car, bearing registration No. JK02AN/9838 this afternoon. As the vehicle reached near Beila hamlet enroute, it went out of control due to over speeding and fell into a gorge.
Two persons were killed on the spot while two others were injured, who were shifted to Mandi hospital by the locals. The dead bodies were also sent to the hospital by police party. The deceased have been identified as Aijaz Ahmed, son of Abdul Subhan and Sajjad Ahmed, son of Mushtaq, residents of Rajpura, Mandi. The bodies of the deceased were handed over to the respective families after postmortem and conducting legal formalities by police.
The injured were identified as Javed Akhtar and Tahir Ahmed, both residents of Rajpura near Fatehpur in Mandi tehsil. The police has registered a case in this connection.
