SAMBA, Sept 11: Two persons were killed while three others injured in three separate mishaps while a man committed self-immolation after a tiff with wife in district Samba today.
A police spokesman said Ishan Jandial (23), son of Manohar Lal, resident of ward No. 9 Bishnah died on the spot when his motor-cycle No. JK02AU/ 6535, was hit by a truck No. JK08-7669 near SIDCO Chowk Samba this morning. The injured was rushed to district hospital Samba where doctors declared him as brought dead. The police has registered a case in this connection.
In yet another mishap one Jyoti (35), wife of Vijay Kumar, resident of Raya Vijaypur, received severe electric shock from Farrata fan at her house at around 11 am today. She died while being shifted to hospital.
Three persons were injured after their bike was hit by a tractor trolley near Barian on National Highway. They were on way to Billawar from Bari Brahmana. While one of them namely Ravi Kumar was referred to GMC Hospital Jammu, two others were shifted to Vijaypur hospital. The police has taken cognizance.
Meanwhile, a middle aged man Sukha Lal, resident of Chhatisgarh and presently living at Paloor in Samba set himself afire after a tiff with wife last night.
The family members rescued him and rushed to Samba Hospital. With 70 per cent burn injuries. He was referred to GMC Hospital, Jammu. The police has registered a case in this connection.
