2 killed in Mughal road mishap

POONCH, July 12: Two persons were killed while another was seriously injured when a truck rolled down into a deep gorge near Panar bridge, in Poshana area on Mughal road late this evening.
Official sources said that mishap took place when an empty load carrier, meant for transportation of chickens, was coming from Kashmir valley towards Jammu via Mughal Road. When the vehicle bearing registration No. HR58C-9798 reached at Dogrian, near Panar bridge at around 8.30 pm, the driver lost control and the vehicle rolled down into nearly 300 ft deep gorge.
The police party led by In-charge Police Post, Behramgalla, SI Sushant Choudhary reached the spot and launched rescue operation. While two persons were killed on the spot, one critically injured was removed from the gorge and shifted to Surankote hospital. He was identified as Jaskaran Singh (40), son of Chanchal Singh, resident of Haryana.
Police said the identity of the two deceased could not be established till late tonight. Their bodies were being evacuated to the road from deep gorge with the help of locals of the area. It was total darkness and the mountainous gorge was very steep. The condition of injured was also very serious and he was being referred to GMC Rajouri, police added.
