MENDHAR, July 1: Two persons were killed when a Tipper met with an accident in Mendhar Sub Division of district Poonch today.
Official sources said that a Tipper bearing registration number JK12B-1569 was on its way from Mendhar to Poonch and rolled down into a gorge on reaching near Nabna at Major Morh, in Salani area, resulting into the death of one person on the spot. The Tipper driver was taken to District Hospital, Poonch in critical condition, but he was declared as brought dead by the medical staff.
The deceased have been identified as Javid Ahmed (28), son of Mohammed Rafiq, resident of Dara Dullian, in Haveli- Poonch and Afraz Ahmed (Driver), son of Jahangir Khan, resident of Piallian in Poonch.
A senior Police officer confirmed the incident and a case has been registered in this connection.
