RAMBAN, Jan 15: Two persons were killed, while another was rescued, when the vehicle they were traveling in, skidded off the road and plunged into the river Chenab at Khora Pani near Koral bridge, here today. Click here to watch video
As per police sources, a driver was reversing the truck, when he lost control over it and the vehicle plunged into river Chenab at Khora Pani near Koral bridge.
After getting information, police team along with State Disaster and Rescue Force (SDRF) personnel, Quick Rescue Team (QRT) and Red Cross volunteers reached the spot and started operation to fish out the bodies of the deceased persons.
The bodies were fished out from the river and later shifted to District Hospital Ramban for autopsy, which will be conducted after family members of the deceased reach here.
The deceased have been identified as 52-year-old Kalu Ram (driver), son of Amra Ram of Bora Rajasthan and 61-year-old Narayan Singh (truck owner), son of Mehtab Singh of Gadri Rajasthan, while the rescued person has been identified as Sadha Ram, son of Khuma Ram of Rajasthan.
Ramban police has taken cognizance in this regard.
