SAMBA, Jan 21: Two youth were killed after the Maruti van in which they were traveling hit a truck at Jammu –Pathankote, National Highway at Jokepur near Thandi Kohi in Vijaypur tehsil late to night.
The duo was identified as Anil Kumar, 22, S/o Arjun Kumar of Jak Chandla and Rakesh Kumar, 20, S/o Sham Lal of Jak.
They were traveling in the maruti van from Vijaypur to Jak and after reaching Jokepur the van hit a stationary truck which was parked on National Highway after it developed a mechanical fault. Both the driver of the van and another youth who were traveling in the van died on spot.
Soon a team from Vijaypur Police Station reached the site of accident and it shifted the dead bodies to GMC Jammu for postmortem. The dead bodies will be handed over to their parents tomorrow after postmortem.
The Vijaypur Police has registered a case under relevant section of law.
