Srinagar, Aug 14: Two labourers died and another was injured today after they came under a huge sand slide at Gadhanchipora area of Bijbehara in Anantnag district.
An official said that a group of three people came under the sand slide in Gadhanchipora during extraction of sand.
He said a rescue operation was launched and those who got buried under the sand slide were rescued and shifted to a nearby hospital.
Among three laborers, two succumbed to their injuries at the hospital.
The deceased have been identified as Mushtaq Ahmad Sheikh, son of Ali Mohammad Sheikh, resident of Kaigam, and Mohammad Altaf Khan, son of Mohammad Syed Khan, resident of Kherh Traith, Rajouri.
The injured has been identified as Abdul Rehman, son of Ghulam Mohiuddin. Meanwhile, police have taken cognizance of the incident.
